General information for using the catalogue correctly
The following notes explain how to interpret the catalogue and provide some simple suggestions for identifying the best product. In drafting it, we have prioritised explanatory tables and drawings to cut down on text.
Firstly, in every table, at the end of every item-code, you will find a suffix - xx- to replace with the letters identifying the finish or colour required. For example, replacing them with the letters “VV” means that the chosen colour is RAL 6005 green. The letters “ZC” indicate a product for which a hot-dip galvanised finish have been requested and so on.
However, some “historic” products (whose codes could not be changed) are already identified by a complete code.
All the available choices are indicated in the general “Colour Table” shown below. For some products, however, e.g. for spot welded wire panel fences and relevant gates, it will not be possible to supply either a hot-dip or electro-galvanised finish. In any case, this information will be included in the tables related to the different products.
The general table shows the most commonly used colours in this sector. It will, however, be possible to choose other colours in the RAL range.
At the beginning of each product series, we have indicated the most frequently requested finishes and standard colours. In some cases, especially for fences, these are suggestions dictated by the structure of the product itself and the best overall look in our opinion.
Non-standard colours and finishes will have a surcharge indicated in the price list and, in some cases, may even entail a minimum order quantity, as well as changes to production times.
These indications will be in the price list accompanying the catalogue.
It should also be noted that the different items originate from a raw material, i.e. steel: untreated pickled GR, Sendzimir galvanised ZS or hot-dip galvanised ZC.
All the products are produced with the most suitable material. For example, STANDARD 38 x 1.5 and 48 x 1.5 mm posts are not hot-dip galvanised because they are made from tubes with Sendzimir finish. EXPORT gates and uprights are produced with either untreated pickled tubes or mesh (when they need to be welded) or hot-dip galvanised tubes.
The sizes indicated in the catalogue comply with the legal tolerances in force. The following specifications should, however, be noted for the latter:
when the sizes of a STANDARD series round tube are indicated, the diameters and thickness are all recognised commercially as standard. Vice versa, the tubes of the EXPORT series have bigger diameters and thickness than the standard ones in the catalogue because they are indicated in DN inches.
The conversion table for DN to mm is given below.
In the final pages (F.A.Q.) of the catalogue, you can find a simple, but useful guide for choosing the best fence to fit your requirements.
We have also included the answers to the most frequently asked questions about correct installation.
