Wire meshes
Galvanised wire mesh is commonly used in construction. In addition to those in sheets (standard 2x1 m) with different mesh sizes and wire diameter, they are available in rolls of 25 and 50 linear metres with multiple mesh sizes, wire diameters and heights. The mesh sheets are generally light reinforcements, not structural, and are used in civil and industrial flooring, with anti-cracking functions.Mesh rolls have a broader use. In some cases they are simply alternatives to mesh sheets, laid both horizontally and vertically. Other more specific uses are for ceiling plasters and safety, with certified fall protection. Other mesh rolls in 50 linear metres, made of twine, are for protection from stone/rockfall. They are used as restrain elements and cliff safety.
From these come also gabions which are filled with stones and pebbles of different sizes for the formation of embankments.
